The seeding for each tournament is determined by a team’s best 4 out of their 5 most recent finishes. So, my last five finishes are Manhattan Beach ‘08 – 9th place, Panama City Beach – 17th, Riverside -5th, San Diego – 9th, Houston – 3rd. I would drop Panama City Beach’s finish and count the other four. Each finish is worth a pre-set point value based on a 750 point system. For example, 1st place equals 375 points per player, 2nd place = 320 points, 3rd place = 270 points, 5th place = 225 points, 7th place = 185 points, 9th place = 150 points, and so on… My four finishes of 9th, 9th, 5th and 3rd would therefore = 795 points. Add those points to Anthony’s and you’ve got our total heading into Huntington Beach, enough to apparently award us with a top 8 seed. Here’s hoping we can take advantage…
Before I sign off for the moment, I wanted to make sure you know how excited I am to write about Houston. We had a tremendous tournament, despite getting smacked down twice by Phil and Todd, and I’d love to tell you all about it; however, I am exhausted. I had to change my flight to accommodate us actually winning on Sunday and my punishment was a 4 AM wake-up call in order to catch my crack of dawn flight on United. Going to sleep for a minute, maybe two. Full recap when I wake.

No time for sleep. You got a third, now your a target. Good luck with that thought. No, sleep my friend, you worked hard to get that third. Looking forward to hearing about Houston and seeing the Stolfus/Medal show on Friday.
Great job this weekend, Hans. Seems like you and Anthony are really starting to gel…
Congrats on the third place finish!
Hey Hans,
Speaking of qualifiers, is there at least a snowball’s chance in hell of any of the AVP’s Young Guns’ (a new series of events top finalists ever participating in a Main Draw event this year? It seems the odds are woefully low….
Awesome finish for you and Anthony, Hans! I’d love to see you make the finals this season.
p.s. Thanks again for the fantasy points. Hope you go on a blocking frenzy in Huntington and Anthony serves bombs.
Billy – It seems like many of the same folks who play in the Young Guns tourneys play in the qualifier, and some make it to the main draw. Christal Morrison and Christina Hinds come to mind right away, but I am sure there are a few more.
Lynn – I am with you. Hans and Anthony are both on my fantasy team, and they have been tearing it up for me.
