Lululemon Athletica should be releasing "board shorts" this spring. I sat in on a design meeting with their founder and they have been working on a model that significantly prevents thigh rash (again, designed mainly for surfers), but should be good for volley movements as well.
I have competed in AVP events wearing the Lulu "court shorts" above and Aaron's points are correct.

Yes Hans, a volleyball brand would be great for our sport. Let me know how I can help.

Hans, if your serious about creating a seperate avp beach volleyball brand, you need to target the up and coming players that like you said, "want to be sean rosenthal". Below the knee, stylish, breathable, and just plain "cool". I like what your doing, and its a great idea to bring in some revenue and establish the avp as its own sport completely.

I like the Jorts... but you should really talk to Former Overkill owner Fred Koops here in Toronto. He will have some ideas for you as for design, fit, and materials.

I'd like to throw in that the lululemon waistband kind of felt like it was maternity wear or something. It didn't inspire confidence.
