(500) Days of Musical Genius…
I know this is pretty much just the “500 Days of Summer” Soundtrack, or, at least, my favorite tracks from the film, but if I didn’t pass them along I would almost feel guilty. And can I just say, please find an artsy theatre nearby your home and see it. It’s what the movies are all about, and it single-handedly makes life seem beautiful again…

Health in the game of life...
If you have ever experienced neck pain or chronic headaches, run the gamut of doctors and specialists in search of even the most temporary forms of relief, and missed my article at avp.com earlier in the year, here you go again. I don’t want to sound like an infomercial, but one call to Dr. David Topping’s office in Yorba Linda could change your life forever. It certainly changed mine....

Concordia University’s new varsity head volleyball coach Daniel Thomas Fisher has agreed to take an hour away from his rigorous pre-season preparation schedule to enlighten us with some new jams, as I haven’t produced a playlist in months. For that I wholeheartedly blame the AVP, and apologize if you actually like my taste in make-me-want-to-be-young-again-rock-pop-melodies.

45 Days in the Making...
Well, it’s been a LONG month-and-a-half.
As most of you now know, Rev2 Media, the agency I co-founded with genius videographer and designer Josh Glazebrook last fall, elected to pull the trigger in April and accept work on the new AVP account, immediately taking over the difficult task of rebranding the tour. It hasn’t been easy keeping things under wraps given my love for absolute transparency,...

An FIVB Love Affair...
Wondering where your favorite beach volley stars will be competing this summer? Look overseas. Or… look to UniversalSports.com for full weekly FIVB coverage. Personally I’m trying to lobby Richard Branson for editorial sponsorship so I can not only watch live, but report via wifi on my flight home. Needless to say, I’ve booked tickets for my state-of-the-art bedroom desk just...

Made in Volleyball...
For as long as I can remember (closing in on two years), I’ve been preaching the volleyball merchandise good word — how badly we need to stand apart from the surf industry and what it would mean to our bottom dollar if brands finally invested solely in us.
I contacted O’Neill, Quiksilver, Hurley, Billabong, Vilebrequin, Patagonia, Nike, Under Armour, Lululemon, Mizuno…the list...

Listen, Work and Volley...
Songs I’ve thrown on heavy rotation while working my ass off to keep this sport relevant in its darkest hour…
“If I Rise” by Dido and A.R. Rahman – If you haven’t seen 127 Hours, stop reading and download on iTunes immediately.
“Go Do” by Jonsi – Easily my favorite commercial on TV right now; this song embodies exactly what it means to Explore....

Beach Volley 2011...
Well, it’s certainly been a hiatus, hasn’t it? Easily the single longest stretch without a blog post since I first began dispensing my diatribe online almost six years ago. And what has the past four months taught me? Or better put, provided me with sufficient time to go back and do? — Don’t guess, it’s a futile exercise, so I’ll just tell you. — I returned...
